The notebook's distinctive endpapers are adapted from Kaleidoscope, ornements abstraits (Paris 1926), a remarkable Art Deco portfolio housed in the V&A's National Art Library. French artists Ad. and M.P. Verneuil created 87 pattern templates for textile designers, capturing the essence of the nineteenth-century pattern book.
